Spearmint (Mentha spicata)

Spearmint is slightly sweeter than its cousin, peppermint. Used as both a medicinal and culinary herb, spearmint is rich in antioxidants and vitamins. Fragrant, emerald green plants with spear-shaped leaves grow 12-30 tall. Ample water will insure a lush crop.

• 200 seeds minimum
• Germination: 10-14 days
• Maturity: 70-80 days
• Direct sow in full sun after last frost date. Gently press scattered seeds into soil. Light is required for germination.
• Space plants 12 apart.
• Grow in containers or use root barriers to control spread.
