Brassica oleracea

Green Goliath is an early maturing broccoli that produces substantial, flavourful blue-green heads. Known for its impressive yield, this variety continues to impress garden enthusiasts with its tender side shoots that can be harvested over a three-week period. Whether you plan to enjoy these fresh or freeze them for later use, Green Goliath is an excellent addition to your garden.

Size: Broccoli heads reach 4 to 6 in. across, with plants typically growing to about 18 to 24 in. tall.

Yield: High yielding variety, producing numerous side shoots after the central head is harvested.

Taste: Mild and sweet flavour, excellent raw or cooked.

How to use: Perfect for fresh eating in salads, steaming, or freezing for later enjoyment.

Planting tips: Sow seeds outdoors as soon as soil conditions allow, covering them lightly with soil at a spacing of 6 to 7 seeds per 1 ft. of row. Best germination occurs at 21C for 7 to 10 days; reduce temperature to 15C post-germination.

Harvest tips: Harvest when heads are firm and tight, before any flowers begin to open for best quality. Cut side shoots as they develop for continuous harvest.
