Perennial woodland ground cover forms a seasonal carpet of arrowhead-shaped leaves 4-6 tall that slowly expands (dormant by summer). Bizarre maroon and white flowers with long, tail-like tips appear partially hidden by foliage in spring (long lasting cut flower). Happiest in humus rich, moist (drought tolerant when established) well drained soils in part to full shade and left undisturbed. Nice spring bulb cover.
