These wonderful alliums always draw exclamations from visitors while they are in bloom! HUGE open clusters to 12 across explode on one foot stems in late May, looking like a rose purple fireworks event! Long after the flowers fade, the dried remains resemble intriguing sculptural elements in the garden or in the vase… we like to hit them with a poof of colorful spray paint for fun! Heirloom, Circa 1896
