Banana Ensete ‘Maurelli’ Plants

Banana Ensete Maurelli is a tropical plant known for its large paddle-shaped foliage and sheathing trunk-like structure. Native to East Africa, this plant is also known as Ethiopian Banana and Red Abyssian. Its bright olive-green, deep-brown, and red-purple ornamental foliage adds an exotic feel to any indoor or outdoor space. Red Banana Abyssian is fast-growing, so plant it in an area with a good amount of growing space.

Although this plant will grow banana-like fruit, its dry and not recommended for eating. Mature Banana Ensete Maurelli will flower with white blooms, but younger plants dont flower for 3 to 5 years. Its also important to note that when planted in a container, Ethiopian Banana doesnt flower either.
