Bletilla ochracea ‘Chinese Butterfly’

A beautiful Chinese Ground Orchid, a little taller than B. striata and not quite as hardy…18-24 stems over pleated leaves topped with pale yellow orchids with deep golden yellow beards heavily spotted with burgundy…even a single stem in a vase is dramatic! Blooms June August; happiest in AM sun or bright shade, rich moist soil; eventually creates a colony, can reseed; deer rest.
