Watering
Water moderately. Once a week during summer; allow soil to dry slightly between waterings.
Reduce watering in winter; avoid waterlogging, especially around the crown, to prevent rot.
Well-draining soil is essential.

Sunlight
Prefers full sun to partial shade.
In Malta, morning sun is ideal; protect from harsh afternoon sun in very hot areas.

Foliage / Flowering
Evergreen with stiff, feather-like, arching fronds forming a symmetrical crown.
Slow-growing; male and female cones appear rarely and mainly in mature plants.
Grown for ornamental foliage, not flowers.

Potting Mix
Well-draining, sandy or loamy soil mixed with perlite.
Suitable for large pots or garden beds.

Fertilizer
Feed every 68 weeks in springsummer with a low-nitrogen, palm/cycad fertilizer.
Minimal feeding in autumnwinter.
