This winter blooming native to Southern Oregon and coastal California is an evergreen shrub with an upright habit, 8-10 tall and half as wide, more compact than the species with longer, dramatic, 8-10 long, cream tassels in profusion Jan Feb; foliage is dark green and tough. Deer ignore it, drought doesnt faze it. You can almost plant it and forget it but dont forget to ADMIRE it, especially when it is blooming!
