St. Valery Carrot (Daucus carota)

A historic French heirloom since 1885, St. Valery carrots feature sweet, tender flavor with a delightful crunch. Their vibrant red-orange roots, up to 12 long and over 1 wide, have a distinctive blunt tip and are delicious roasted, raw, or in soups and stews.

• 300 seeds minimum
• Germination: 14-28 days
• Maturity: 85-90 days
• Direct sow first crop as soon as soil can be worked in early spring. Gently press scattered seeds into loosened soil. Resow in late summer for a fall crop.
• Plant in full sun and water consistently.
• Space plants 3-4 apart in rows 12 apart.
