Planting tips: Start seeds indoors 2 to 3 weeks before the last frost, planting 2 to 3 seeds in 2 in. peat pots. Keep pots warm at 21C and ensure they are watered during germination. Transplant outdoors after the danger of frost has passed, in well-drained soil enriched with organic matter.

Harvest tips: Watermelons are ready to harvest when the tendril closest to the fruit turns brown and the fruit sounds hollow when tapped.
